Yang Hongde---- a Star Student

In this year’s NMET of Shandong, Yang Hongde, a Senior 3 student from our school, got high mark and was admitted to Hong Kong Chinese University, winning a scholarship of HK $ 500 000.

But three years ago, when Yang, aged 16, just began his Senior 1 school life, his father was killed in a traffic accident. His mother became seriously ill in bed because of his father’s death, losing the basic ability to support herself.

Thus Yang had to take the burden of supporting the family and nursing his sick mother. He overcame every unthinkable difficulty that he confronted. Meanwhile, he studied even harder and did pretty well in all his subjects. Moreover, he is always ready to help other students and teachers.

Recently I learned from the newspaper that normal universities belonging to the Education Department would recruit some students free of charge. As a return, the students must serve as a primary school teacher or middle school teacher for at least 10 years in his( or her) hometown. I feel that is good news for me and I will contact the universities to get enrolled.

However hard the situation is, we shouldnt lose our heart, because we have our dreams. Our dreams are always glorious. We also have enthusiasm that will make our dreams come true. But we must have the willingness to work hard, since if we work hard, some miracles will happen. Nothing good will happen without our hard work.

Whats more, when we are unhappy, we can think about our dreams, so that we will be more enthusiastic. When we are defeated, we should stand up and say," Im not a failure." Please remember, “ Anything is possible to a man who has a strong determination.”

My hobby is fishing. I am fond of going fishing, for it is both interesting and iastructive-It tempers my willpower. Last Sunday I went fishing with my friend, He Ping. We started at daybreak. After three hours cycling, we arrived at the outskirts of Hefei and came to a stream. The water is clear and clean. One can see fish swimming. The meadow sprinkled with buttercups slopes to the stream. It is a good place for fishing.

In a few minutes everything was ready. Putting the bait of earthworms on the hook, dropping the hue into the strum, we sat there fishing with rod in hand. An hour passed. I did not catch a single fish. I lifted the fishing rod time and again. Time and again I was disappointed. There was no fish on the hook.
